島根県邑智郡邑南町で、石見養護学校の木工班の生徒たちとともに、地元で親しまれているオオサンショウウオをモチーフにした積み木を共同制作しました。 2017年から誕生祝品として贈られているこの取り組みは、地元産の木材を活用し、新しい命を祝福するとともに、手仕事の喜びを分かち合い、地域や文化との遊び心あふれるつながりを育んでいます。
Together with students from Iwami Special Needs School’s woodworking class, we co-designed building blocks inspired by the giant salamander, a beloved local motif, crafted from locally sourced timber.Since 2017, this initiative in Onan Town, Shimane Prefecture has celebrated new births, hands-on craft, and a playful connection to community and culture.
